Default Woodspirits aside?????

This might seem like a dumb question, but here goes anyway.....

Why is it that any carving (well, a lot of 'em anyway)of an old guy with a beard seems to get tagged as ***** Santa? ie; Cowboy Santa, Vacationing Santa, Surfer Santa, Biker Santa, etc.

Because Santas sell and therefore make the carver some coppers, mula, cold hard cash or grocery money ... Alvins, Georges, Freds and Erwins don't!

I agree I didnt realize until I started carving how many people collect Santa's. Now I have my own collection started and it has become an addiction. I am proud to say I have a Deborah Call Santa and a Teri Embrey Santa' along with about another dozen or so but those two are my favorites. I can see why people collect them and people are always looking for something different so that is why there are so many Santa's doing different things.

What, Santa isn't an old guy with a beard? Huh, ALl these years I thought he was! Dang, Must be that "dang club" of the little bride. Actually, Santas with red suit is old for sure. The old guy needs a variety in his appearl.Talking
