Default Woodspirit for Garden

Just finished my first Woodspirit in a 3"x3o" limb. To me it was a log. LOL. I used Mallot tools and Mallot for first time. What a JOY. I carved it in 2 Days which was a big surprise to me. Using the Mallot permits you to release all your flustrations on that little piece of wood, and at same time create something. Felt good. I finished it the same as usual with exception of using Minwax Spar Urethane,2 Coats. Now I know why those Chane Saw Carvers do what they do. They have FUN. Get out your Mallot and have a BALL, I did. Merle

NICE spirit there Merle. Love the nose especially. What's your setup for holding these in place while you carve?

Great job and thanks for sharing the pic. He'll look great in your garden.

Cheers

Hi Merle, super looking woodspirit there fella. I have a couple I did a while back that are going to be transitioned to the garden. Bought some Spar outdoor Varnish to put on them. What did you use?

Hi Merle,

Nice face. I just browsed the stick gallery. You've got some rather nice ones there too.

Good one Merle, you haven't lost your touch, you can crank those wood spirits out pretty quick, and I haven't seen a bad one yet. He's gonna be real happy in the garden. I have a couple in our garden as well, we bring them indoors for the winter, other than that they seem to be holding up pretty good.
