Default Woodspirit

Been a while since I put out a carving but I managed to find some time to carve this woodspirit. The wood is birch but it has some kind of condition as its got flecks of colors all through it. The tung oil only brought it out more. This curved piece of wood stands around 4 ft tall. Thanks for viewing.

Those eyes really stand out and I like the wide hair/beard cuts.

Thanks for posting a good selection of pictures. Nice work!

I really like the wrinkles in the cheeks and under the eyes, good looking spirit. About how wide is the stick where you carved the woodspirit?

Thanks for your comments everyone.

Bberry - the diameter of the wood is larger than it looks from the pictures. You wouldn't be able to get your hands around it to touch. I would estimate some 6-8 inches across.

Those are really piercing eyes. Great job. Do you use mallet tools or power for these large spirits?
