Am I the only carver trying to find nice wood wheels for wagons, carts, wheel barrows etc.? They sure are a pain to make yourself :P. I finally found and bought some REALLY nice ones at Wood Hollow Crafts http://www.woodhollowcrafts.com. The wheels come in sizes from 1' to 12' diameter.

Cool, thanks, Nancy. I was just thinking about putting Santa in a cart, but hadn't even gotten to the point of thinking about the wheels yet. Teri |

Great, I carve 'NASCAR' race cars and carve the wheel and tires seperate. This takes longer than doing the body. If these wheels are of basswood or Aspen it will fit my needs. Thanks for sharing. |

Even the local Ben Franklin store has them, if you have a BF in your area. Al |

The wheels from Cherry Tree, Winfield, Wal-Mart, etc, are either big, clumsy round things or solid things like a checker with a hole in the middle. (Cherry Tree also has metal wheels) The wheels from Wood Hollow are BEAUTIFUL, thin and graceful. I *think* they must be laser cut. Most sizes come in your choice of oak or alder. I have boxes of the Cherry Tree wood and metal wheels and they just won't work for most of my projects. You all know : how picky I : am

Those are great wheels, Nancy. Is that only an 'online' site or do they have a catalog you can order from. I didn't see where they did but I might have overlooked it. Thanks for the information! Callynne |
