Default WoodCarving Weekend with Goodman, Falin, Reynolds and Webb

Hello all,

I just returned from spending a few days in Townsend Tn. While there I visited with Allen Goodman and bought one of his "Sweeet" flexible blade carving knives and received some valuable sharpening tips to help keep it on edge. I attended Allens walking stick class in 2007 and have a few sticks I have done on my own now.

While in Townsend I attended my third three day class with caricature carver Gary Falin. Once you have a class with Gary you will see why caricature carving suits him so well. He is a CHARACTER himself. He is very enjoyable instructor.

While attending the class with Gary I visited with Billy Reynolds during my lunch break. Billy is a very talented carver and I have enjoyed several classes with him recently.

For me no trip to Townsend would be complete without going by to see my buddy Gene Webb. Gene is as laid back as a person comes and will help you in any way he can. I have enjoyed several power carving and a chainsaw carving class with Gene recently and look forward to more in the future. Genes shop is only about a quarter of a mile past Tuckaleechee(spelling?) Caverns in Townsend.

I value my time with these great carvers. They have taught me a great deal in the four years I have been carving. Look them up should you ever get a chance.

Clinton

Hey Gene,

Gene's shop is set up very nice. I have enjoyed a few classes in it and found it to be very comfortable. Glad to see you got your YouTube videos posted about your visit with Gene.
