Woodcarving Show in Hickory NC

Klingsphor and the Catawba Valley Woodcarvers Club is hosting a
Woodworkers/Woodcarvers Show this coming weekend Fri & Sat. Oct 27-28 in Hickory NC.Anyone within driving distance needs to attend this show,its a real good quality show.Its only a 1 day show,but their is alot of factory venders their to sell their goods.A real fun time,the woodworkers show is on Fri. the woodcarvers show is on Sat.

How far is Hickory from Highpoint? My wife's brother live there so maybe some year I could go and pay them a visit too.

Question....this show is over 4 hours away from where I live, and I've never been to a woodcarving show before. Since I have noticed that all of you who are talking about going to Hickory are caricature carvers for the most part, is that the theme of this particular show? or is it just a coincidence?
I haven't found much about it on their web site, and did e-mail for more info, but got nothing.
I might try to come just to see what's up and learn a bit. No classes? right? Do you all have booths set up and sell your work or is it just a competition and venders?
Being a newbie to shows...I want to have a good excuse to make that long drive back and forth in one day..

it is just coincidence that we are all caricature carvers this show has all types of carvings. some of the best birds and animals you will see. pretty good show and the people are so nice.
