On this sites home page there is an announcement of a carving series being produced as a partnership of Fox Chapel, WCI & DIY network to be shown in December. Up here in Canada the only DIY shows available are on the HGTV channel. Does anyone out there know if they will be airing in the near future in Canada, or will we have to wait a couple of years, which seems to be the norm? Any ideas of who we can pester up here to speed up the showing?

This is what our marketing guy Mark Vogel suggested: My only contact is in DIY Production—no influence on availability. I can’t get DIY here in Lancaster County! Here’s what I’ll do: I’ll contact our local cable provider (Comcast) to ask them to make it available here in Lancaster I’ll tell them that the show is getting publicity on carving message boards nationally and abroad I’ll forward any contact info or tips they provide me. Carvers throughout N America should the same thing. If DIY, HGTV and the cable providers are pestered enough, we could influence programming! So maybe if we all complain, it will do something!!! Hey Bob, That would be a great idea, if it could get full coverage/distribution. I'll speak with the Rogers Cable folks up here and see if they can send it up the wire. Every ripple can make a difference. I use to watch a cable show on painting....a how to, in oils, was great. Too bad I didn't have any talent though. Carving would be even better. Folks really get a kick out of watching you work....strange isn't it! They think it's magic!Just think of all the different carving types, styles and methods that could be demonstrated. Good luck with getting it distributed. Bob

Capn, Only on DIY...that's why we are pushing cable stations to make some changes. I'm not really familiar with other carving forums, but if we all make a big stink, maybe we can all get DIY... Bob |
