Default Wood spirit walking stick I just finished...

I was very ill over the holidays and did`nt get much of anything done. I started caqrving on this piece of maple and thought it would make a nice stick for hiking. I did`nt have any concho`s so I carved one out of a piece of basswood and the strap is a piece of deer hide that I had tanned a few years ago. The only cost on the stick was the rubber tip on the end and the stain..Thanks for looking and as always comments are always welcome...Bruce

I think you did a great job. I really like the expression in the eyes and the fullness of the cheeks.

He's got a great look for a hiking stick. What is that flower-type work I see around the leather?

As always Bruce, its a outstanding woodspirit and the concho adds to it. I like how you dont need to cut on a corner to get the noses and the total face out as nicely as you do,course on a round stick, theres no corners! LOL

Looks great, I like the face. Looks like he is alive. The concho is neat addition. But I wonder I durable it is on a hike. Did you do anything to strengthen the concho. Love the stick.

Well done. That spirit has lots of character and expression in his face. Nice stick.
