Default Wood spirit coming to life?

Hi gang,
Some of you have a lot more experience with this than I do, so... here goes...I'm a little ashamed to admit this...

We're working on a book on carving greenmen. Our production department had a wood spirit carved into a walking stick. When they left last night, it was proped into a corner of one cubical. When we came in this morning, it was in the middle of the floor--across the room...

Do wood spirits often get bored with their view and change it? Should we be afraid to move it?

Bob

It is that time of year and the moon has been full. I'd keep my eyes on it

Our office in in an old tobacco barn that was once a whiskey distillery. One of our production guys thinks it's a whiskey ghost--a guy who drank himself to death here in the office...see how urban legends start...

I had a 'potential' walking stick that I proped beside a large oak in the back yard. I couldn't decide what to carve on it and, well, sort of forgot about it. About a month ago, I noticed it on the ground next to the tree, so I proped it back up....no big deal. Well, now I do the same thing each week - each time it gets farther from the big oak!!!!? On Wednesday, it was about 15 feet from the tree. It's almost a game now, but I wonder who I am playing with.......

Next time rather than stand the sticks up lay them down, wait and see if they stand up, if they do I wouldn't tell anyone and I'd leave.

8) I'd get rid of it.... I'd cut it up in little pieces and carve it into a whole bunch of woodspirit caricatures. :

Ah lad....you got a spirit sharing your space. Like DaleO says, it is that time of year and a full moon last night, or night before....so your friend is trying to tell you something!

As a sailor.....I take my superstitions seriously! As a lad who was born on Halloween at 11:40 PM......it comes natural!!! (My family always said that it answered a lot of unusual questions about me! )

The Celtic belief was that the veil between the spirit and human worlds was most penetrable at and near the time we know as Halloween.
Didn't Rod Serling write a Twilight Zone about something like this?
