Default Wood spirit.

It has been a yr. since I joind the forum and up ontill now and my last two postings , I haden't posted anything. I felt I had nothing worth showing. The reason I felt this way was , when I logged on and looked at everything that was being shown , it was yrs. beyond what I was doing . I very seldom seen work of lesser quallity , everthing was right to the 9's. But I came to the conclusion that if I kept up with this complex I would never get an honest opinion on what good carvers thought of my carvings .Well I took the plunge and made a couple of postings and you know ( it didn't hurt at all ). I hope I didn't offend anyone but it is just my ilogical way of thinking . So in the mean time this is what i started out to show. Thanks again. Wayne (mj)

Totally awesome carving...and by the way, I too just took the plunge and posted, for I too felt very inferior to what I saw.

I wouldn't worry about your work being not as good as others on here. My work is of the 'lesser quality' that you speak of, but I post almost everything I do on here. There's two reasons why:

1. Someone may actually like it and enjoy looking at it.
2. You can only learn from others experience so it's nice to know what they think.

By the way, I like your bark face! Thanks for posting.

Hi Wayne, Welcome and hope your first posting encourages you to post more of your pieces. As for the Woodspirit that you posted, nothing to be ashamed of, if fact it is very good, hope to see more of your work. Merle

Glad your back to posting...especially when your sharing a carving like this one. His face suits the shape of the bark very well. Keep those carvings coming.

Wayne, You did a great job on the Spirit, and you are progressing and learning. That is what is important! Just keep it up, you are fast getting there!
