Default Wizard

I kind of had Gandalph from the lord of the rings in mind when I did this but I did not have a picture to go by....in otherwords, this is my imagination working. The pipe was a challenge as I had to keep trying to bring it out when it started to chip off. As well, his lower lip chipped off so I had to lower it and put some lower teeth in to grip the pipe. The birch log is approx. two feet high. I put blo, two layers of satin sealer, and some dark satin wax to bring out his features.

Nice wizard! I love the detail in the face, especially around the eyes.

Its great to have all of you comment on this latest carving. Its fun doing a carving for the sake of carving.
I'm back to another fundraiser carving. I thought I had my share of Sea Captains for a while but that is what is being requested. The community the carving will be used to raise funds is populated with many fisherman. My wizard expression looks so blah that I think I'll give the Sea Captain a laughing face and a chin beard to separate him from the other Captains I did earlier. Stay tuned.
