Default Wip Native Anerican

Hi all, I haven't carved a large project in a while so I thought I'd show you what Ive been working on. My son brought me some poplar logs this summer so I thought I would try carving one. ( it's not basswood) it's brittle and you have to go slow. I could have saved a lot of work if I didn't have to hog out all that backgroung for the feathers. As you can tell I've already strayed from my pattern a bit and mabye more by the time I'm done. I hope you enjoy and I will post when finished.

Thanks guys, this wood is hard to carve clean ( for me ) and I'm not that great at sharpening. Also I have second thoughts about neck where and how I want the hair. Mark I have something to do during the snow SHOVAL. LOL
