Default Willard Stone-A Cherokee Woodcarver

We were finally able to make it down to Tulsa to take in the Willard Stone retrospective at the Gilcrease Museum. If you have the opportunity you owe it to yourself to make the trip to see a true artist who just happens to work in wood. I seriously doubt if such a show has ever been devoted to one woodcarver at a major museum just as I doubt if one will be in the future. Here are a couple of links for those interested:

In addition to the really wonderous works there is a 30 minute film on his life and work narrated by Cherokee film actor Wes Studi.
