Default Why the yellow?

I carved this from found wood and the inside is yellow. Does anyone know what kind of wood it is?

id almost bet its hedge- osage orange or bois de arc -- depending on the area of the country you are from-- its the only one i know of that is yellow-- and harder than the hubs of h__l. post a pic or the original piece of wood with the bark--

If it was extremely hard wood,seeing that your from S. Illinois I agree with Chuck theirs a good chance it is hedge.

Thanks for the replies. Because it is found wood from the Ohio River I wasn't sure.

hedge is more orange. honey locust is very yellow
