Default A Whittler's album

Hi gang!!

I recently posted an album {5 pages} of my pocket knife whittlings & folk toys on my facebook page under the photos tab, but here's a link to get you right to the album. Bill Smith's Photos - The Wooden Whimsies Of Whittlin' Will {aka Bill Smith} | Facebook The rest of my facebook deals mainly with my interest in ventriloquism, ESPECIALLY Senor Wences from the Ed Sullivan show. N-JOY!!! Whittlin' Will

I really like some of your whittlings more. Not that I don't like the others... but some are really in a style I like.

For example the reclining man, the dogs, etc...

Thanks Bob! Glad you liked the puppets Hal! & gtech, I like certain carvings of mine better than others of mine TOO! Yeah! Those dogs are FUN to do!! I just did one of the ones with the front leg curled for my lady friend & you'd think I'd given her the hope DIAMOND the way she STILL carries on about it! THAT'S why I do it! Money can't buy that!! Thanks!! Whittlin' Will

Nice carvings, Bill! That little guy holding up the penny has a lot of good detail!

Thanks Claude!! That of course is just a smaller version of the ones from Keith Randich's book "Carving the little guys". He also put out "Old time whittling", & "Carving the little sailors". GREAT books, but I DO disagree with his saying in "Old time whittling" that ".....You'll be hard pressed to find a pocketknife these days that you can do much more with than put a point on a stick." I'd just LOVE to show him my "stick points"!! HA!! All I ever use is a peanut style, small pocket knife, & just use the one inch blade! "STICK POINTS"!! HA HA!!!

Those are some neat whittlin's Bill. Your little guys are really detailed. I like your Senior Wences box, it reminds me of the good old days when TV was entertaining. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.
