Some good carvings there, but not the best in my opinion....you have some of the best carvers right here on this board! Nancy for one, Arnold Smith, John (Woody 01), Lynn Doherty, Corbet, Irish.... geez I could go on and on, so if your name isn't on the list please don't be offended! Talking

I second that opinion.....some of the best I have seen are right here in the WCI family! Just look at the galleries and you will find plenty of examples.

Those are great carvings though....encourage them to join the group!

Well it goes without saying that the BEST woodcarvers are here on this board! I should have written, "One of the finest woodcarvers, not counting Nancy, Hi Ho, Irish, Goody, Whitecree, Thor, Ashby, etc..etc..etc..."!!

thanks for the links Jilly,

i found a lot of ideas i hadn't seen before,
I love the premitive-ness of a lot of the carvings, i agree, Art is in the eye of the beholder,
some like carving quick rough down and dirty, some like it smooth and refigned, its all carving,,,,

Lots of the things here on the fourm surpass artistic license even to things that need to be put under glass for all to see in a museum
but then too there are many beginner's here that one day surpass their bumps in the road.. and achieve their status
thanks
thomas
