I have never read a history on whimsical houses. I was trying my hand at one yesterday and as I held it up to examine it, it struck me, is this from "The Grinch whole stole christmas" or Whoo? Just wondered. dale

I have heard them associated more with "hobbits" from Lord of the Rings. Rick Jenson (Barkboy) has been carving them a long time. If he was not the originator, he had to be in on the beginning. So, he is the one to ask.
