I suppose he would be a wheelwright. But then he also makes every other part of the spinning wheel. Don't know the name for that, except - excellent craftsman!!

Hi Tom, That is a great carving and a wonderful gift I am sure I used to live in Oregon myself Gresham, Real close to Portland. I loved it there.

love the way you draw us to his face, to more carefully examine his features and expression, by minimizing the extraneous details (into which it is so easy to get lost)
