Of course, aside from Woodcarving Illustrated, do you have a site that you find yourself using more often than others? Be it a retail site that sells carving supplies, or a blog, or a resource only site... After committing to the fact that I wanted to become a great carver, I set out to find as much information as possible on the subject using the web and have come across many great informational sites... I'd be interested where everyone else likes getting their "fix" ... |

No question about it; WCI is my #1 hangout. After that I find myself viewing Lynn Doughty's blog on a regular basis OutWestWoodCarving Soggy |

WCI, I also go to Caricature Carvers of America, Lynn's site, Gary MacDaniels, Don Mertz, and many more of the carvers here on the forum. I also look at Gene's video's over and over, and Arlene's, Allen Goodman's. If one gets caught up in it you can spend so much time viewing sites that you don't get any carving done. The best part of it all is each one has something to share and teach. A big thanks to all. Safe Carving and God Bless, Mark |

While I have learned a great deal here, I always check into the Australian Woodwork site. . . everything from carving sheds, turning, bandsawnboxes, you name it. Much greater diversity/perspective that WCI. . . .; but, that was their intention. Their woods and tools are so different from what we have in North America. . . . see how others do it. = Slabmate = a tool which can surface a 7' x 25' slab of wood in one pass.
