Default Whatcha Carving-Burning???

SHOW AND TELL TIME!

OK, time to get everyone up and active on this message board. Go get your digital cameras or dust off your scanner and show us what is on your work table right now.

They don't have to be finished pieces ... you can post barely started, half way throughs and all most dones Plus this is open to carving, wood turning, wood working, wood burning ... wood painting ... anything!

We'd also love to see what your hubby or little bride is working on right now ....

This is a great way to jump into the fun of the WCI Message Board, so lurkers and visitors please join in.

Right now I have several wood burning projects that I am working on as small holiday gifts. The two scenes will be matted and framed. The round is a paper mache box lid. Paper mache burns wonderfully and is easy to paint.

Not carving or burning anything (except the trash)......still working on the house and have way to many other projects for a while, to carve.....OK, I'm brooding about it, but that's life!

Yesterday it was raining, windy and cold at lunch time so I pulled a piece of 1x1x3 basswood out of my desk drawer and my Double Cross and started on a snowman pin for my mother-in-law. I got it roughed out during my 1/2 hour lunch break. Maybe I can finish it this weekend. Unfortunately, that's about all I've done that carving related lately other than practicing tool sharpening.

Finished stoning/honing my knives last night. Began planning for the February Charlotte competition and the design of a carving for that competition. (This means a shopping trip to Michaels for some supplies!!)

Also have started one of Gary Falin's roughouts.

Working on several projects, One of a cowboy from a Bishop roughout. Hat done, face just some cleanup, body more work, Duster more work and jeans and boots needs a lot of work.
Little bride just finished a cottonwoodbark carving of Sunflowers, rock wall and a tortise heading to water. Nice one for sure.
A couple egg Santas, and some ornaments.

I just cut out the Oak Man blank on the bandsaw during my lunch break...I'll be working on that for my wife for Christmas while I'm at work...want it to be a surprise!

At home, I'm working on a Victorian Fretwork Hot Plate for my wife's grandparents, 55 scroll-sawn ornaments, and a pair of scroll sawn Nativity scenes...plus re-doing my shop, building new benches, etching and sealing the walls and floors of my basement...hanging drywall...etc.

I Just picked up a 4x8x18 block of basswood from Woodcraft to try the Indian mask by Jeff Phares. I also bought his books on eyes, nose and hair to go along with the first book.

Still waiting on a few new tools before I start though, maybe next weekend. In the meantime I’m building a simple tool rack.
