Default Whatcha Carvin'

Show and Tell time for everyone!

Go grab your cameras and show us what's on your work table right now. Brand new works, works in progress, semi-painted, and just roughed out ideas ... what ever is on your table now.

Everything and every project is welcome - wood carving, wood burning, wood turning, gourds, canvases, your latest basket weaving .... everything!

Don't have anything on the table? Well, that's OK! Please show us some of the projects you have already finished whether it's your very first or your one thousandth (SP)

This is an open invitation to each and every member and visitor to join the fun of posting to the forum.

My current project: I am jealous to see all of the great new postings here on the message board when I am up to my ears in work. So, in creative desperation I grabbed a 2" x 2" x 12" practice stick to start a Santa cane. Even if I can only carve during lunch it is better then being creatively constipated ... AHHH!

Please, if you haven't posted before this is a great chance to join in the fun.

So, gang, grab your camera and show off your stuff!

Susan

Okay Susan, here is my Christmas present for my oldest daughter. Mary is in the process of painting it. A pretty large Cypress knee Santa 'Bout 20" high.

Hi Susan, here's my show and tell. I'm up to my ho ho ho's in Christmas projects. Love this time of year!
Looks like you have a fine walking stick started, and Doug that is one fine looking Santa. Susan remember what they say 'all work and no play--sure glad you dropped the work and decided to play' even if it's only on your lunch break.
Ice Cream This is going to be fun seeing what everyone is working on, thanks for starting this thread.

I'm working on Mark Gargac's santa ornament, making chili pepper ornaments, my doggie KT (Jack Russell Terrier), and the Olde World German Santa on the back of Chip Chats magazine for my mother-in-law. I've also completed three kachina dolls as gifts...two are already in England and one is off to New Mexico.
Whew!
Kathy

Doug! That Santa is great. I love how you made the back knee into the pine tree ... that is so very very creative. I hope you will post photos of Mary's progress as she paints him. I really like him exactly where he is at and am excited to see where she goes with it! Thanks for sharing.

Kathy. Where did you come up with the Chili Pepper ornaments ... I just have to find time to do some. My Mike never can get anything hot enough to his taste. Adding chili peppers to our tree would be a real grinner. The Marc Gargac ornament is coming great. Thanks for joining in.

Susan

If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert , in five years there'd be a shortage of sand.

Will be carving at a gift shop this weekend. It's their kickoff for the Christmas season (Open House). What's on the carving bench are pins, ornaments and refrigerator magnets. The refrigerator magnets are clipped to the top of my tool board, and are given to kids that come up to watch me whittle and carve. These kids usually bring mom back and she'll buy an ornament or a pin. Last year I sold 72. Tom H

Hey Tom, those are looking great!

I haven't figured out how to add photos here. I recently added some current work in the animal carving gallery. I'm better with wood than the computer. Greg

Jim ... the creator of Lil' Abner would be so proud of you! We fell off the chair laughing and remembering Daisy Mae!

Tom ... what a fantastic collection of little Santas! Each one so very different. I'm inspired!

Greg ... To post a photo use the Go Advanced option below the Quick Reply menu box. A new page will come up titled Reply to Thread. Type your message in the first menu box.

Now scroll down below the typing menu box and look for the area titled Additional Options. The second area of this box has a button marked Manage Attachments ... click that. A new small window will open that will instruct you on finding your photo on your computer and uploading it. In this window you will see a listing of what format of photos you can upload and what size those photos can be.

When the upload is complete it will show in the menu area below the upload area. Click the x to close that window. This returns you to the Reply to Thread page where you click the Submit Reply.

Hope this helps!

Susan
