G'day All, A friend asked me to carve a Dalmation dog for him to give as a gift to close friends of his. I'm not really pleased with my efforts, but this is what I finished up with. He is carved from Jelutong and stands 4½" high and the base is about 4" in diameter and turned from Tasmanian Blackwood. He is covered with a glass dome originally intended for a "400 day clock", which fits in a groove cut into the base......Please feel free to comment or point out any faults as you see them...... Thanks for looking, John |

Thanks Carl, Andy,& Merle for your greatly appreciated comments. Yes Carl, Blackwood can be very attracyive but it's also very hard and tough on tools. Carl (CGM) I agree, we are our worst critics, never really satisfied, but I guess that's what makes us try harder next time around....Thanks John |
