Default Weekend with Helvie

Had a chance to set down with Rich Smithson, owner of Helvie Knives and throw around a few chips, here's a few pictures of our weekend, had a great time of talking and carving, and put some new knives to the test. Also was able to set down Friday evening and look over his carved basswood knife handles, WOW!.

Awesome photos.
Those are a great looking bunch of (original & carved) knives you guys have there.
Boy do I have a questions...
What's the story on the finished knives? It looks like a variety of carvers did them.
Where can those display cases be obtained?
I just have to ask - what's the Santa suit doing out in Sept?

Now Mark... you are just having too much fun! It sounds like you had a great time. A carver in a knife shop is like a kid at the North Pole! Thanks for sharing these photos with us. Hope to see you on the road soon.

That looked like a really fun time Mark. I went over to Don's house this weekend and he gave me one of the new Helvie signature edition knives they did for him. What a great knife it is!
