Default Weekend Doings 9/29 - 10/1

Wow busy non-carving weekend!!

Friday night had Fall Festival (PTA fundraiser) at my daughter's school. It was fun but got home late.

Had to wake up 7am on a SATURDAY to get to soccer by 8 for pictures and then the game at 9. We won 5 to 0 which is awesome. My wife and I coach our daughter's team so we are proud of them!! Then off to clean house some and to 1pm game for my son. Walked away with a 1-0 loss. Home to relax a little bit before heading to Celebration City (an amusement park in Branson) to enjoy a FREE night eating and riding rides for my wife's work. Big hospital here and they had a work picnic thing. Got out of there 10pm and in crashed HARD at midnight.

As you can see... NO CARVING SO FAR! Woke up and fixed our refridgerator and went to church. Came home and finally got half an ornament carved. Just put the kids to bed little bit ago and headed back out to garage to finish other side.

Carving!!

Sean

A little more clean up on the dragon relief, nothing worth showing. But spent most of the week-end finishing up a drawing or draught as they call it in shipwright talk! I've been tinkering away on this for months, off and on, for some reasonsince the car accident, I can only draw or write (like in using a pencil/pen) only for a short period and then have to quit, as my neck, back and head gets sore as the dickins. Have to rest for a few hours/days until things calm down again, and then continue. Gets frustrating, cause I love writting and drawing, and now it takes forever!! Hope the client likes it.

Kept the crandchildren while their parents went to the races in K.C. It was a weekend that should only happen once in a while! This senior citizen played touch football, baseball and another game called run-around-the-yard-and-fall-down. With 3,4 and 5 year olds, all rules were optional. I didn't get much carving done but the oldest wanted to help me rough out the Southern Belle bust again, so I thought,"why not,... I'll get him started and I'll work on christmas ornaments". What a misguided idea! With my knife in one hand and wood in the other, I sat wide eyed and my grandson beginning wielding the mallet & gouge. I never blinked once. When my eyes started getting dry, we decided to take a break and play football again. Maybe this week I can get back to carving again.
