Default Wednesday Wonders...Daily Post Mar 3rd...

Hi everyone! What's going on out there today!? I'm off to work and then have a friend coming over this afternoon to carve with me awhile. Finished my Mexican Santa but still need to glue his boots and arm on...and then PAINT him..so I guess I shouldn't say I 'finished' him :P ... Will dig out something else to work on...(still need to cut some hands for my cowboy)...
That's it for me...what are YOU up to today?

Good morning: Haven't carved the past 3 days. Bought another horse stall mat for my shops concrete floor. It now surrounds the bench and power tools. The stuff is a real help for arthritic feet and knees. Keep on carving. Ron A.

Have been carving hiking staffs and santa's have three santa's carved just need to paint them and carved three more hiking staffs yesterday they are really fun to do because you can finish them quite fast. Today I will see if I can paint a santa or at least start painting I am a little afraid I will ruin it. Also cut a couple more hiking staffs I will probably carve them. Spring is coming cant wait to do another big carving but still have about three feet of snow before I see the logs again.

...well it's damn near spring here in western new york, but here i sit at the job wishing i was carving away myself...

...still working on enhancing my own creativity designing new carvings for upcoming competitions, also near completion of a tailgater, haven't quite decided what to perch him on(wagon, truck, fence, etc.) I wish i could carve as fast as the rest of you gentlemen but since i am doing it more for relaxation i don;t push for speed.

...HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!

I just finished a santa carved from an old walnut table leg, also a primitive style folk art angel from bass wood.
That was at 2 AM....feels like yesterday but I guess it still counts for today

I posted them on my picture trail site under 'new stuff' if anyone would care to take a look.

Haven't been carving in the past few days due to work. Actually just got back from Cincinnati about an hour ago.

Will watch a ball game on TV tonight and rough out a few miniature caricatures. I WILL carve this weekend - just not sure what I will get done. As a side note: I will sell the hunter and dog that I carved a couple weeks ago to someone at work tomorrow.

Greg that table leg santa is amazing really nice job how was it to carve did you do it with chisels and knifes or did you use power. No matter what it is a beautiful carving.
