Default wedding bands

I was asked if I had ever made any wood rings, and thought I would ask the same question here.
Anyone made wood rings?
What kind of finish did you use?
How about some pics?
I was given some links for wood wedding bands and other wood rings, and was surprised at they type of wood used and how combinations of woods were used. Some were very elegant.
Here are links to 2 websites that I was given.

BTW, I have never tried to make wood rings, but I will in the near future.

Any combination of materials can be used as shown on those links. If you have a lathe, those are no problem. Only thing you would have to really deal with is getting them sized right. Can be done with minimal amount of material involved. As for finish, that's a hard one to say. I would think that a waterproof type finish would be required, but maybe just a wax type finish? The latest thing that I saw wood turners use is some kind of glue as a finish that is applied while turning. Good luck if you give it a try.

I use CA glue see link below, on the lathe as a very heavy duty finish, my high end rare woods and really figured woods I build up layers of the glue and then turn it smooth and it can be sanded then polished to a glass like state, the stuff is really durable I have a Black Ash burl pen in my pocket for over 3 months now and it hasn't cracked or become dull, still shiny.
As for how they make the rings? beats me I could see making them on a lathe especially if you had the right tools and know what you're doing.
Just my two bits.
