Default Web site updated

Hey folks
My Daughter finally got the time to do an update on my website. Would like for you to take a look at some of the new stuff we put on. I took a class recently with Gary Falin and have the results of that on, plus some other new carvings.

The site is http://www.carvingsfromcoolholler.com

thanks,
Jim

Good morning Guys,
Thanks for all the kind words. I appreciate the hits on the site and the replies. I think #7 (my daughter) does a great job, also. She has saved my bacon on the computer on a regular basis. I am much more comfortable with a chisel and mallet in hand than a keyboard.

I would like to get your input on one of the carvings posted, tho. As I have stated before, I prefer not having to paint my work, but some things need some type of finishing. On the Florentine Man, the original was in stone I guess, for the color was an offwhite, with light green tones around the edges and in the shadows. Do you think I should stain or paint mine? If so, what medium would be best?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks,
Jim ???

Hi Jim,

I wouldn't stain or paint it, just a clear oil finish, ( maybe followed up with some wax, but that's a personal choice) . The carving is too spectacular to cover any of the detail with paint or stain. That is one awesome piece of work, well done.

Just my opinion.

Bob
