Default Web site for Carving Group...Content?

I am in the process of building a Web site for our carving group (in between carving Santa, Mrs. Claus, gnome houses and wood spirits). The group has been meeting for only a few months but is really growing and having fun. I thought it would be nice to have a place where we carving geezers and geezerettes could display some of our work. But, beyond that what do you think would be nice or handy to have on the page? Links to this Forum? Other places?

Your suggestions will be helpful. Thanks.

Sinbad, you are definitely in the right place right now to show the efforts of your group, to begin with, there are more of us old GEEZERS on here than you can shake a stick at. As for information and help along the way, this is the place. Welcome aboard to you and all your friends.

I would suggest doing it as a Blog so you can have interaction with the viewers. Each of you could enter your own posts showing your pieces and describing how or why you did them.

Oh I love those kind of sites! I spend hours looking for carving club sites where they will show pictures of thier projects.

One I would suggest is that the pictures are clickable and the name of the carver and how to contact them would be helpful. Especially if Santa collectors are wandering through and would like to purchase or order one for themselves.

What a great idea...and do post it here when your done? I'll come see it too.
