Ow - makes me cringe to think about it. Best of luck with the recovery. Cut or torn tendons usually do pretty well as long as they're dealt with as soon after the injury as possible.

Default Oh man! Thats a bad thing to happen...

I hope you recover full use of your hand, etc.
I'm learning to carve, but I can't even beat a drum as far as music is concerned. Best wishes.

Sorry to hear about your accident, I don't play any instrument but I do sing professionally and if I cut my instrument, I'd have a hard time breathing.

RickM... Sorry to hear about your mis-fortune. We've had a lot of past threads of similiar mishaps because gloves weren't worn. Good reminder to those newbies on the Forum! Good luck with the surgery!

Hope everything goes well with your surgery. Believe me, a gouge will go through a carving glove and a leather glove over it. I know all to well! I now clamp my carvings when using gouges, except my dockyard micros.I have a numb forever fore finger, a scar on my wrist that just missed a vein, and a few other scars on my right hand. I soaked my night gown with blood one evening from being stupid with a gouge. I actually hid it from my husband until I had it doctored up. He gets on my case about my mishaps! Safety, safety, safety!

Rick,
Good luck with the surgery! I cut my left index finger 2 weeks ago, because I didn't have my glove on luckly it wasn't that bad.

Sorry to hear about your finger.

One of the first things that I give as advice is to wear protection. The second being to learn how to sharpen.

Unfortunately, most LEARN to wear the glove AFTER having a severe cut.

Good luck on your recovery.

Good luck Rick. My left forefinger still is partially numb from my last "event".
