| | WCI Holiday issue Just got my copy of WCI 3 or 4 days ago and have 'bout worn it out. I know that it must sound like a broken record but, like all the rest, this really is the best issue yet! I felt like I got something valuable out of every article and you folks need to pat yourselves on the back! I don't know who Jack Kochan is other than the listed illustrator for WCI but his b&w illustrations for each carving article are really good and I like the way ya'll enhance each article by incorporating those top-notch drawings into the article instead of cramming them totally out of sight in a folded up newsprint centerfold. Speaking for one, I really love to see those illustrations laid out side-by-side the photos which looks great and helps me digest the project MUCH better. The addition of the blue grid lines in the background is also another great addition to the illustrations. Thanks!
Thanks also for the feature article from the National Scout Jamboree on the woodcarving merit badge. I just finished certifying another eight boys last week and my class is also 3 hours... if they already have earned their Totin' Chip certification, otherwise that adds another hour. Nice article.
My favorite article was the "Saint Nick Cane Topper". The smile on that santa is unique and the santa amazingly resembles the author's picture, Phil Bishop. Once again, speaking for just me, I'd really like to see more how-to's on carving cane toppers.
You folks always do a good job in putting together a top-notch magazine which is an art in it's own right. Hope that ya'll continue to out do yourselves with every future issue!

| | Re: WCI Holiday issue Yeh, I like the whole issue, alot! I especially liked Susan Irish' s snowman. I'm thinking about changing it slightly, reducing it a bit, and making a Christmas ornament out of it.
Lots of great ideas throughout the whole issue. WCI did good again!

| | Re: WCI Holiday issue I told my wife this is the best yet.
My two favorites are Lenard Watts' Spiral Santa Ornament and Phil Bishop's Saint Nick Cane Topper. |

| | Re: WCI Holiday issue Thanks guys now you have me all excited about the new issue and it will take another month for it to arrive in the great white north. Oh well maybe one day they will open that boarder and everything will run smoothly until then I will have to sit here and drool in anticipation listening to you guys rave about the issue. One thing at least I will know what is in it.
