Was going to suggest the taxidermy shop as well. They have great stuff there and almost all of their stuff comes with easy to follow directions ( they assume not everyone is an expert taxidermist) As a hobby taxidermist myself, most of the taxidermy supply stores have online shops, but they used to advertise their catalogs in the back of field and stream magazines, Or you can go to your local taxidermist and he might sell you some of his stock for cost minus shipping. Taxidermist are also a great resource to give you pointers on using the stuff. Good luck! Home Page Mckinzie taxidermy Last edited by midnightcarver; 12-14-2009 at 05:14 AM. |

The resin material of choice for most people that I have talked to is Envirotex Lite available at craft stores such as Michael's. Its a two part mixture and very easy to work with. I too am a novice at making habitats but found it very easy to create a still water scene with this material. I have been told that splashes can be created with it by dropping it into a tall container such as a barrel. I have not experimented with that technique yet and can give you no infomation on the details of the procedure.
