This old fiddler lost his wife on a cold and snowy night. Ever since then he sits in the kitchen every night playing his fiddler for his wife. I wrote a new song for you honey as he slid his fiddle to his chin. Im Waltzing to Heavens Gates to see you near the streets of gold, cause I love you so. The sunflowers we planted are grown so tall.I can see them from the kitchen window as I come down the hall. Your stove is like you left it which is so nice from the smell of the boxes of spice.Your churn is sitting in the corner where you use make our butter on thoses cold winter nights,as I played my fiddler by the lamp light. Yes I will join you soon my dear,Waltzing To Heaven's Gate,I wont be late. To see you and us at peace with our love on those golden streets. This carving is 8. 3/4 X 14. 3/4 in a old bass wood disc. Painted with acrylics. Your thoughts or comments are always welcome. Thanks,Forrest

Forrest you "Old Coot!" You sure you ain't kin to Hank Williams Sr. That sure sounds like something that would roll off of his guitar! I can just see myself glued to the kitchen radio listenin' to old Hank sing that on WWVA! You're quite the lyricist! And the carvin' ain't bad either! Really nice work..beautiful paint job!
