| | Walking Stick with Many Faces I got this Walking Stick about 2 yrs. ago feeling that I wanted to put faces all over it. It is Basswood, 1.50" Dia. tapered to1.00". I feel that it is time to start this stick and let the Chips fall where they may.lol. This is the 1st. Spirit to get the Ball rolling. Will add a Spirit when the feeling hits me. That's a good feeling ,right? Do it when you feel like it. Independent HUH? Merle

| | Re: Walking Stick with Many Faces Here is one of my Staffs the wood has many bends and knots The wood I think is Beach tell me if it is different ,I don't remember when it was collected. the stripes are natural ,the way the Bark came off , it is a string of faces and a snake going around the bottom ,there is to much glare on the faces I should not have used flash I guess, I hope you can see it

| | Re: Walking Stick with Many Faces Hi Patrick,Alice, and Clif. Thanks for your Comments. Their is not a flaw in this Basswood Strick. I think it was turned on a Wood Lathe. Perfectly Tapered from 1.50" to 1.0". I bought it from Treeline and had in mind carving all over it. Kind of a review of what I have done in the past, just to see my improvement. Merle |

| | Re: Walking Stick with Many Faces Merle, definitely go for it, your last few spirits have been a dellight to view, I have every confidence in your ability to make a great carving out of that stick. I guarantee, you will not want to part with it when it's finished.
