Default Walking Smokey

My boss is a big University of Tennessee fan. Over a round of golf one day I told him that I would like to get a new putter to go with my clubs. He let me try out his putter and told me I could keep it if I would do a carving for him. I decided to do a Santa and have him walking Smokey on UT's orange and white checker board end zone. These pictures were made at the Smokey Mountain Woodcarving Show in Townsend Tennessee. As always, thanks for taking a look, and all comments are welcomed!

Thanks everyone! This was a fun project! The hardest part was getting the squares even on the base and painting it to look like the field. He seemed well pleased when I brought it in to him after I returned from the show. Now I'm wondering if it will be a yearly request. Maybe I can get a whole set of new clubs out of the deal as the years go by! Hahah!

Thanks for taking a look!

Blake,Im a ole Tn fan also but I like any of the SEC teams. You not only nail the Santa but Smoky too plus they both scored by standing in the checker board!! A really neat carving and your painting brought it all together just right!!

Great work Blake!!!!
