Default Visited Chipping Away's shop today!

I am down in southern Ontario for work, and visiting some friends and family... In Toronto. Chipping Away is in Kitchener, just an hour drive away, and since here was a few other places there I wanted to go, I was able to get to visit the shop.

What a treat! Picked up a new Helvie and Shipley knives, and a set of 5 TwoCherries palm tools, as well as a few books on caricature carvings, some cypress knee and a few other goodies.

I got the set of rough outs and the book on carving/whittling little folk - that looks like a lot of fun!

I am pretty excited, i dont get to go to a shop like this very often. Home is about 500 miles north, not much if any carving action.

Cant wait to get home and use the new tools and try some new projects!

AJC

Even better!

You know, two things (besides my wife and kid and dog) that tug at my heart are wood working tools, and wood!

They have the largest selection of books on carving i have ever seen... A whole wall rack probably 25 feet long!

I'm thinking about all the money I saved because I wasn't there.

Enjoy your toys!
