Default Using a folding box cutter?

On some posts and books they talk about using Xacto knives for carving or putting in stop cuts. Is there any reason that a folding box knife with easy change blades would be a promblem? Most of all, I'd use it for stop cuts but use it a lesser extent for carving with a thumb guard and glove.

I have seen some great carving that is done mostly with a utility knife. If you can do it, then go for it!

Most of the people who've tried the utility knife/box cutter use a fixed blade utility knife. I would think a folding box cutter would tire the hands quickly.

I would go with a fixed a blade. They are wider and like Cliff says you wont fatigue as quick.

I have used the Syanley 199 fixed bladed box cutter or utility knife. I don't trust the folding ones, but that is just me. Definitely don't trust the sliding bladed ones. An accident waiting to happen. Again, It is just me.

I use a Gerber pocket folding box cutter and I love it.
Did a lot of carving with it and it is easy to change the blade or just turn it around. You have to be very carefull cause it will go deep in your skin if you cut a finger so I use thumb guard...
