Update on our friend Ron Davidson

Hi Gang,
I have just recieved an email from my very dear friend Ron. I thought I would update you on what is going on with Ron. He is a very proud man and I have never heard him complain or give a negative comment. Ron is my mentor and when things get a little tough I always think of Ron and the positive attitude that he conveys all the time. Ron is having more problems with his eye sight and the now cant see at all. The doctors have told him that it may come back some but there are no garantee's. So if Ron doesnt respond to a carving you have posted it is because he cannot see them anymore. He can read your messages though through his computer. His computer reads him the messages. He carves by feel and that is an accomplishment in itself. His girlfriend does the painting for him but he does the carvings. He has completed two segments for the friendship cane that will be auctioned off at the open house I think those segments should be placed at the very top of the cane what do you think. Although I have never met Ron in person he has become a true friend through this family of carvers. I trust you will all say a prayer for Ron that his eyesight may be restored so that he can see somewhat the way he was before. Keep up the fight Ron you are a true inspiration to all of us here on this board.

I agree, Ron is definitely an inspiration to all of us. God Bless him...I will definitely keep him in my prayers! Thank you for giving us an update. Let us know how he is progressing!

I will keep him in my prayers for sure. I am fairly new to this board , but feel like everyone here is a part of my family. I have been truly in awe of the work Ron does and consider him one of the finest carvers I have had the pleasure of meeting ( virtually). His work amazes me and I am inspired by his work everytime he posts a new creation. If you talk to him, make sure you tell him we are all praying for him.

I think that's a great idea Colin. Ron ..... keep the faith son, though there may never seem to be any rhyme or reason for the way life goes, they tell me there is, we just have to wait until it is revealed. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

He's in my thoughts, and I too, always look forward to seeing his carvings. Regardless of the difficulties he has seeing them, he has progressed as quickly as any carver with sight on this board. I have shown his carvings off many times to my family and friends through my computer.
Ron, I do hope the prayers are answered.
So glad to hear that you can carve by feel alone meanwhile.

I have had a few conversations with Ron about Clayton's and his difficulties and must admit that he is a inspiration to us and many others.

I pray that his eysight returns and that we continue with our friendship.

Colin, thank you for the update.
Yes, Ron is a true friend and is on my list of people to meet.
Next time we are through Wichita, we plan to meet Ron. SADLY we haven't met him yet.
Ron is an inspiration to me also!
How he carves with out his sight is truely a major accomplishment. You are correct Colin, Ron doesn't complain. So we need to build him up if he is in need.

ron is a true friend i am just in awe everythime i look at his work.i received an ornament from him last year in the swap and i had to beat my motherin law of with a stick so she wouldnt steal it.hang in there ron.
yes i agree colin his work should be put at the top of the cane.

Ron, I am truly sorry to hear that! But remember God isn't thru with us yet!! The Lord always, always has the best for us, in your case we have no idea what that is, but we know the word is true, you bet we will pray for you, and healing is not just for the middle ages, if thats God will, you will be healed, and if it is not, something great will come your way.....keep the faith baby, you are an inspiration to all of us!

thanks for the update ron will be in our prayers as well as you have said we have never met him but he is a good freind to us all, hang in there ron we are all with you.
