Default "Universal sign of Welcome"

A pineapple! How many of you knew that? I didn't know until someone asked me to carve one a couple of years ago.(it's on my website). someone seen it and wanted me to carve another just a bit smaller. So I did and decided to stain this one. It's carved in Elm and as you know elm doesn't have a very good grain. I think I like it colored. It's 30" tall.

I always heard a pineapple meant "Good Luck" also. You sure did a nice carving of this one plus the colors are very realistic! Such great work always from you~ Thks for sharing such talent. Tn~

I like that very much. The "welcome" at the base finish it off nicely.
Since I've just seen it with color, I can't imagine it without. The colors add so much.
Great job!

That is a very good project and extremely nicely done. Do you think you could possibly post a detailed shot of the greenery at the top of the pineapple. The picture is so dark I can hardly make the leaves out.........

That's a good one and something that I don't believe I've ever seen! While a pineapple is a welcomed sight anywhere, I'd bet that they'd be VERY popular in a place like Hawaii... or at least you'd think. Nice job!
