Default Two projects completed

Here is the woodspirit that I completed last week and I chose to just add oil and some dark satin wax to bring out his features. I also burned in the eyes rather than paint them.
The other little guy came from some waste wood from the gargoyle I'm slowly working on. He's about the size of a hand. Playing around with another expression...so he's supposed to look surprised. Thanks for looking.
Patrick

The eyes brought him to life and the second one is really unique. Like them both.

All of your woodspirits are so different, yet so unique to your own style. I dread the day that you aren't posting.

Great work Patrick! I see you are now using that dark satin wax. How do you like it?? It really makes your carvings look nice and makes the details stand out! Very nice carvings!! Great work!

Love how the first one turned out Patrick, the finish makes him come alive. He reminds me of an old Celtic or Norse warrior. The second is an interesting study, more passive.

Hello Blake,

I use it with almost every carving now. Not only does it bring out the details, it seems to give the carving an aged look that people seem to like in the carvings.
