| | Tree spirit I have lived here at this place in Billings Mt. for about seven months and never noticed this in my front yard.Agood size branch broke off and weathered in to a natural wood spirit.I just spotted it yesterday and thought who carved this and looked a little closer and saw no chisel marks.Yard art by mother nature.

| | Re: Tree spirit That's VERY cool! I agree with Corey - I would take gouges to it and not make big changes, but just define the eyes, nose, and mustache just a little more - to keep it on the edge of wondering if it just happened or was carved. Then put a finish on it to preserve it.
Way cool either way though. Thanks for sharing.

| | Re: Tree spirit The tree took a loss when it lost this limb.It definately was not carved and if I went in any deeper it might weeken it.Anyway,it is like some paintings, the further you stand back the more it comes to life. |

| | Re: Tree spirit Hey!! Great seeing you posted Davey. The natural wood spirit is neat. About to set up at Roan Mtn this morning for the wk end festival there, course its a 60% of rain Sat and 40% Sunday which isnt that promising. I remembered last year when yall came up. Been busy, course the past 2 wks me and Connie have been sick, she was off 8days and thats sure not her to be off work or sick. Thats about it from my side of the mtn my old friend. Hope yall are all well. Are you getting in any carving time lately?? Talk with you soon. Forrest
