Default totom pole

I STARTED MY FIRST TOTOM POLE LOOK GOOD BUT I NEED MORE IDEA ? HOW TO PAINT AND COLOR I WISH I NEW HOW TO PUT A PIC ON HERE HELPApple ITS 5-FT HIGH 24 AROUND

Keith,hit "Go Advanced "on here and click on "Manage Attachments" here to load a pict on your post here. I used Acrylic paint on some totem poles I did a few years ago,the paint is still on them,least 10years ago. Hope this helps you some..........Forrest

Regular acrylics hold up pretty well, but there is a new breed of them out there now for outdoor use. (well they are not THAT new). If I was going to paint an outdoor piece, I'd start with a GOOD exterior house paint white primer. That would seal your wood, give a good base for the acrylic, and cover any flaws in the wood. If you wanted some grain to show through, try a clear exterior sealer/primer before the outdoor acrylic.
