I was just reading this thread and have been interrested in the Bucket Box.. Question...???
Do all the different sizes of the bucket boxes have the ball bearing base and can be rotated? Second question.. can all of them hold knives and gouges, or are they just made for gouges chisels etc? Thank's for answering these questions.. Charlotte

Santagibbs,
The larger ones have the revolving bases. I believe the medium size does also I think the smaller single level does not.
The different levels have holes in them that would allow most tools that would fit the hole, gouges or knives. My earlier post expained my different size tools that included full and mid size gouges, knives, palms and assorted Denny tools. I would like to tell you the hole size but I'm not near them. I would guess the larger holes that are along the circumference of each level are approx. 1" dia. The hole edges may be trimmed away to allow gouges with blades wider than the hole. There are some smaller holes in the upper of my bucket that look to made for pencils or in my case Micro gouges. I added carpet on each level to help protect the tools cutting edge if it rests on its the lower level. It's a neat affordable and portable storage unit. Most people I've talked to either like them or the don't, no middle ground. It fits my need well.

Thank you x-sailer for your information.. I am going to order one today.. I really need something to rotate, to save space and to get to my tools easily.. That's a good idea about the carpet. I appreciate the information..Charlotte

I use a cloth tool bag from buffalo tools. It has pouches on the outside that are perfect for strops and stones. It has pouches on the inside also. I mostly do hand held stuff, christmas ornaments, spoons.Things small enough that I can do them where ever. It's perfect for my truck because I can store it when I'm driving.

Denny Nuebauer of Denny Knives had something on that order and it may have been a Bucket Box. I didn't get a chance to se it closely. Spent to much time carving, Well Duh!

I will say, most at the class had some kind of tools holder except for me, WHAAAAAAAA!
When it thaws out, May have to see what I have in the garage.
I am trying to remember what Phil and Vicki had in the bottom of there tool caddie where the stuck tools were.

But then, the old mind ain't what it use to be. Well the little bride says it never was!
