Default Tool sharpening - Wet or Dry?

What type of tool sharpening equipment do you use?
Wet or dry and why?

for a normal carver most sharpening tasks should be done wet whether oil or water.
its just crazy for someone to put a good tool to a high speed dry grinder and wreck it with friction heat.. just for a normal sharpening.

are you trying to find a faster way to sharpen?

its hard to understand what the depth of this question details without knowing more of your intention..

I just bought the Worksharp 3000 system which is a dry system. I also have the Delta sharpening system which is wet. I was just curious as to what everyone else was using and why?

Sorry i cant justify or afford a jool tool sharpening system,

i only use a bench stone or wet dry sandpaper (scairy sharp) to bring a tool back from being dulled, from regular use to reshape the edge back to sharp, for regular maintence,

Like Thomp, I use bench stones and a strop. I use water on mine because it doesn't seem to make as big a mess as oil. I've tried dry, but wet seems to work better. Whatever works for you is best for you.
