Default tool sharpening

Well if you need tools sharpened...Rick is your man! I have 3 ramelson v tools, that just weren't making it, and I tried to sharpen one and it wasn't quite there either LOL, sent them to Rick and although I haven't tried all three, the one I did, carves smooth as butter...Thanks a lot Rick!!...Now if I can just get him to send me a catalog LOL

Sliver,
Is Ric doing you a favor or is sharpening a service he performs for customers? My long term edge maintainence plan is to keep stropping until I completely loose any hope of sharpening, then send the whole collection to someone to sharpen. The tools I use are all Flexcut, do they provide this service? I thought the day would come sooner that I would need to take this action but stropping is keeping me in the game. On more often used tools I think I am loosing my corners.

This is kind of like my banking strategy. Always round down when subtracting from the checkbook, never balance, Close the account every 4 years and enjoy the excess that you really didn't know you had.
Ah Chip

You know Dave, You aren't the only one that has had trouble with sharpening a gouge. I have one that I gave up on as no matter what I tried, It did not cut the same as when I bought it. I will have to dig it out and see if my friend can sharpen it. If not, Rick is the man. No problems with others, just this one. A parting tool no less. I have sharpened others and satisfied with their performance but that one. Now, I did loan it to a friend, well he was before I got it back and he had used a grinder and the ends were discolored when I got it back. Burnt. IT was and I was.
Best to you.
