Default Tonite, my workbench is empty!

I finally finished the two projects that I had posted earlier in BobD's thread " Sound Off, What's on your workbench right now? ".

The leaf bowl was carved from a scrap piece of black cherry lumber. It is a stylized cherry leaf. The finish is 2 coats Minwax Antique oil and buffed with Johnson's paste wax.

The display case was more of a woodworking project but I did hand carve the door pull out of black walnut. The case is white oak, the back is birch veneer plywood. I finished the case with 3 coats of Minwax wipe on poly.

As you can see in the picture, my wife promptly filled it as soon as I had it hung on the wall.

Tomorrow is Sunday, so my bench will stay clean, but starting Monday I have a bunch of Bible boxes to make.

Thanks for looking.

Nice work! Great looking dish and display cabinet. I am like you... cleared the carving bench but in the shop I had 2 pen box commissions and 3 pens to clear out. Might sneak in some carving tomorrow. Nice job!

Both nice finishes, Brian. I can see why the wife liked the display case.....nice piece of carpentry! And the bowl is just beautiful. Isn't that cherry a joy to work with?

Those look super Brian!
I love your leaf bowl(s).
Your traditional woodworking is top-notch, too!

All the best,

Thank you everyone for the kind words!

Those little bowls are fun to make and the best part is they're all made out of scrapwood.
