Default Tobacco pipes

I want to carve a tobacco pipe and im wondering if there is a way to make it with a curved stem. I am thinking somehow split the wood and gouge out the middle and then glue it all together. Can you hide a crease with sanding?

u can do this by 3 ways 1- doit by peiceing parts together and gluing after drilling the hole in the middle then sanding the joints to make it curved,2-drill hole in stock[dry wood] then soak in water a day[or so] steam bend the way u want it let cool and dry 3-make a shape 1/2"bigger spilt it 2 pcs. carve the hole out the middle then glue together then finsh the outside by carvin or sanding u can put thin brass tubing or new] brake line inside to make it stronger it's hard [be carefull] not to sand though to the hole[inside] the way [i] check the thickness is drill a stick-pin into it then fill the small holes u can also use the tubing to put it together at the base so it can be taking apart to clean[but thats just my way] hope this helps?

Back in the 70’s I carved plenty of smoking pipes enough to pay for my tools and then some. Yes you can split the stem and carve the hole with a veiner, don’t split the bowel if the pipe is to be used.
