I just saw a good tip on placing patterns on the wood, this was in a wood working mag. Use Glad press'n seal plastic wrap and tracing right onto the plastic and press it onto the workpiece, no glue, therefore no residue, it appears they are using this for scrolling as well? Would have to try this one I think.

If you know anything about Glad's press and seal, It forms a bag by pressing it totally around the object/food product. Love the stuff but not good for freezer. To thin. However, I don't see why that wouldn't work on putting it on wood for a pattern. You are useing the same principal by pressing. I'll tell the little bride we need to go to town.

Ok this maybe a dumb quesiton but, do you mean you "press" this on the wood then cut out the pattern right through the cellephane? Wouldn't the teeth of a band saw just rip the plastic right off?

I don't know about bandsaws, haven't tried it yet, but assuming from the source that they are doing it with scrollsaws.....this doesn't just lay on top, it wraps the piece of wood like you would a sandwich you were putting in the frig.

It makes more sense to "wrap" all the way around, I'll have to give it a try it's I neat trick if it works.
