patrick, nice to see you back :-) ... i first found your carvings in gallery, missed the thread somehow (sigh...i seem miss a lot of posts somehow), and wondered what you mean with wax, "is he carving in jewelwer wax?" ... now i read here, this refers to finish... so nice to see some new carvings of you. notice a slight overall change, but still "patrick"-carvings, very nice :-) ... thanks for sharing, and, i hope to see more...

Hi Doris,

Yes it is a finishing wax Doris - something I picked up in Marks tutorial disc. It's the final layer which brings out the detail in the carvings. They do appear to be "Patrick" carvings as you say. Its too easy to slip back into my comfort zone. However, I thing you'll see some changes in the eyes with my next one. You probably noticed a slight change in the eyes in the guy with the pipe. Thanks for your comments.
Patrick

As good as it gets! I saved the second one for studying as it's got some of the best detail I've seen. The female is so real... stunningly real! Keep at it.

Terrific job on the faces! Good to see you posting your work again. You did a terrific job on the nose and the eyes.

Thanks for sharing.

Hey Patrick, I love the spirit with the pipe...and the other two are great too.

...also...I can relate to they busy work schedule. I've recently found myself running a business, remodeling a house...along with raising two teenagers....I miss carving...

most recently I get my carving fix through viewing some great work on the forum so keep posting and don't appoligize.

Patrick,I was wondering what happened to you.I am a fan of your work and I can see some changes.I do like the finish you have applied really like the wrinkles which give a character the true spirit look.I am so involved in my move to Montana right that I just was able to take a peek at the message board and comment.I really enjoyed these carvings.Davy
