I just love them Colin. The customer is the one to say, but I think I would like them with a tan or biegh at the top or all like the bottom.. The stand out because of the different shapes. .. They are adorable.. Charlotte

Good looking mushrooms Colin. The spirits look great there! I'd have gone with a different look/colour myself, sorry. Fantasy mushrooms.......the kind you'd see in a Disney movie, coloured with dots all over the tops. Just an opinion. They are still great carving work. See what the customer likes.

Colin, Once again very very nice. But I have a question that some might be afraid to ask. Are you in danger of using up all the trees in your area? Or are you importing the logs from elsewhere? You must be up to carving about 4 per day now. Tom H

Colin, what a neat idea!! I agree with the too white also. I have carved a couple mushrooms and here's what I find works the best for me (this is with acrylics but I don't see why you couldn't do the same thing with stains). I paint the mushroom underside a brown color, the top more a tan color, then I take and draw some of the brown, underside color, up through the lighter top color, just around the edges. Makes them look more real to me.

Whatever you decide to do, the concept you have is great! Thanks for sharing them with us! Deborah
