Default Thank you Thomp!

Thomp had posted, in another thread, about using 'bottle size' ice cube trays to hold carving tools. I tried one and loved it, all the knives and gouges I'm using at the time are up and out of the chips, in plain (and safe!) sight. It worked so well I picked up another one to organize my paint brushes. At first I planned on just using it to hold the brushes I was using at the time. When I saw how many it would hold I changed my mind. This is how I used it, to hold and organize my paint brushes.....from smallest to largest. Every size grouped together where I can easily see them. I love it!!

Would you believe, there are 106 paint brushes in that tray and room for more! Thank you Thomp, for one fantastic idea!! Deborah

P.S. A suggestion, put a rubber band around each end of the tray.....keeps the bottom held securely on....trust me on this one!

Sorta off the point but that tray of brushes is almost a piece of art in itself. I guess that beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Nice idea.

Amazing what these Tube Ice trays hold. Not only carving tools but I cut one in half and now both the little bride and I have holders for pencils and pens in our rooms. And all for less than a buck. The Dollar Tree had them 2 for a buck where Wally World had them for $3.98 a piece. Go figure.
I agree Deb, they are handy for many different uses. And Not just for water for ice.

Thanks Dave, I think it's a work of art myself! Finally got to the painting stage this weekend and got to actually use it.....how nice to be able to see at a glance what paint brush I wanted to use instead of 'swirling' around all the brushes in the various jars or the paintbrush carousel I was using, looking for the one I wanted!!

Kenny, Dollar Store didn't have any so I had to pay full price for them at Wal-Mart.......they are worth it though!! That Thomp is such a smart man!!
Deborah

P.S. The stuff you see that looks like paint on some of the brushes is actually "The Masters" Brush Cleaner and Preserver....it's fantastic stuff if you haven't tried it. You clean your brushes with it and then add more and shape your brushes for storage, it dries stiff and holds the brush shape. I love it, in my opinion, it's the best stuff ever invented for paint brushes!
